    Adding drywall in garage

I will check into that. Good to know. Something I wouldn't have thought of doing.

    Adding drywall in garage

Thanks for the advice folks, I'll be back home in a couple weeks. I'll post pictures as I go. Hoping to knock it all out in 5 days with the help of my brother for lifting purposes. For sure going to rent a drywall lift to ease the process. Then I'll move onto the walls. Still need to insulate...

    Adding drywall in garage

I don't have any good pictures my phone and I won't be home anytime in the near future. The one posted is the best I've got. The insulation is done the same as you would do a cathedral ceiling. Baffles run from the soffit to the 1 inch short of the ridge board. You can kind of make out the...

    Adding drywall in garage

Just so I understand correctly and from what I have read. The CJ's that I'm going to put up will be tied into the top plate and then cleated on the rafters in 2 locations. ( following the way the existing rafter ties are done). But I do not tie the ceiling joists into the end of the rafter by...

    Adding drywall in garage

Neal, there will not be any insulation above the drywall. The rafters are insulated. I know I will still lose my heat without it insulation but it will help keep the heat down in the work area a little bit better. Snoon, the CJ's will be cleated to the rafter overhead. So just to clarify I...

    Adding drywall in garage

Hi all, With it being winter and hunting season coming to a close, I figured I could start up my garage project again. I have 8' ceilings currently only with 2x6 rafter ties 48" OC. My plan is to run joists to support the dry wall. But I have a couple questions. I'm going to have to sister the...

    Cracked shower basin :(

The two products you are talking about are just top coats. They won't help fix your problem anymore than silicone will. They will just look prettier for a little bit. Then crack again. After you support around the drain. The roll on type is going to be better off for a shower floor.

    Shed and Barn Kits

The instructions for my build called for 5/8" OSB. So that's what I went with.

Do i just throw in the towel?

Cost wise, I think it would be more feasible to buy a gently used (maybe show model) trailer than to refurbish a termite infested one.

    Shed and Barn Kits

I just got done with one about a month ago. Pretty straight forward. Just follow the directions. It also includes pictures so you can get an idea of how it's suppose to look as you go. I got the majestic 8×12 at HD when it was on sale. Take time on leveling your base and making sure the floor is...

    Garage insulation advice and thoughts

I'll be drywalling the ceiling. I've insulated it to have a cathedral style ceiling. Atleast that is the plan. Now that I have it done, I am thinking about separating the attic and the main floor completely like you see in most garages. But I'm afraid it will make it feel too small since I only...

    Garage insulation advice and thoughts

Well I got the garage all insulated. It made a huge difference. Except when it's muggy out. I'll start the drywall after a few more paychecks. I have been looking at heaters. But paying a plumber to run the gas line to the garage is making me think it's worth it to just bundle up in the winter.

    AC is not blowing cold

Is the blower fan in the ac unit kicking on?

I need a very simple workbench design.

Short term? Just 2 saw horses and a sheet of osb. To beef it up, run 3 2x4's the length of the board. Helps to keep it from sagging.

    What did you do today?

Found this guy wrapped on around my fried capacitor on my ac unit. Hit 103 today. Luckily I had it fixed by 11 am.
