i want to drill a hole in my garage floor so that I can install a pole to attach things to, my garage is kind of unstable, this could also attach to the upper beams

how can i make the hole without cracking the rest of the concrete

It all depends on what size of hole you want to drill. If it is something like a 1/2" hole, then just use a masonry bit (carbide) to do it. If it is something like a 4" hole, then check out your local rental place or look for a Concrete Coring company in the Yellow Pages.
