An electrician replaced a plug in the kitchen. However, the tile/grout is a little short on the top, as shown in the attached picture. How should I fix this as a homeowner who is only a little bit handy?
It appears that the grout is missing. If you have some leftover, I'd trying grouting in the void. Remove the cover, use duct tape to create a grout line, fill the void. Or, get a larger cover as Neal suggested.
Given the tile color, I might go with a black outlet and black mid-size cover plate. But I can do the work myself. Definitely go for a mid-size cover plate and as others stated change all of them on that wall, and maybe all of them above the counters in the kitchen if there are more than one section of counters.
