Another thought....... what if I had an hvac person make a rectangular vent that is like round on both ends but like 3 inches wide and like 6 inches tall, just to get past the depth of the washer and then put 4 inch vent hose to exit?
That is what I was thinking. A 4" diameter duct is 12.56 square inches area. A 4-1/2" x 3" duct would give you that plus a little so a 3"x6" should be plenty. You can also buy oval duct for inside walls so maybe you could find one that works. Transition to 4" round might be harder to find. Found this.

Thanks! I will look while I am out and about today (if I remember! Lol)

I am going to meet my son amd his GF at cracker barrel here shortly and there is a Lowes, Home Depot and Menards nearby there!

Ok fuys..... sometimes I am hair brained.....
Why not use flexible pipe from dryer across back of washer and then that metal ductpiece I already have run along the side of the washer and then flexible duct to the exit that I currently use? Esthetically it will drive me nuts for it to not be a straight shot. But I think that it will work fine other than that.

I came up with this as I was trying different things together at Lowes.....

Overthinking is my superpower apparently.... which complicates things unnecessarily.

A quote from post #10,926, "I like the "shall be smooth" requirement, because there is nothing smooth in a flexible ribbed connecter hose."

The reason being is, any ribbed surface will be a dirt and lint trap., requiring more frequent disassembly and cleaning.

Your time, spend it wisely.

I saw a new neighbor moving in, and did receive a few items I had ordered from Amazon and another place. I order strange things like powdered soy sauce, and powdered heavy cream. I'm anxious to try them. I use both in regular form, but sometimes the cream goes bad before using it all, etc. And I like so sauce in many things. It will be a good experiment.

Why not freeze it before it goes bad?

Ever try Coconut Aminos instead of Soy Sauce? Tastes good and lower sodium.

I failed to mention recently that I changed electric suppliers. First bill will be in about 2.5 weeks. I have wanted to do this for a long time but didn't really understand how it worked until a friend posted her bills for comparison.
AEP Ohio charge $0.113 perkilowatt hour. My new supplier is charging me $0.0615 per kilowatt hour. I now feel like an idiot for not changing previously, however I just didn't understand it.

For those not in Ohio. They deregulated electricity (and I think natural gas) years ago, so you can change suppliers.

Ok..... I may NEVER go to sleep in my room again. I think I will sleep in the car. I just opened my half bath door (it isn't currently in use) and that darn rat was in there. I am not kidding when I say my heart jumped out of my chest.
I survived my moms 40 cats, 82 mice in one winter 20+ tons of my moms stuff and NOW, I have a rat or 20.... I have put non poisonous stuff out where the dogs can't get to it. None of the packages are chewed on yet. I did put one plastic snap trap out with peanut butter in it, but nothing yet.

So.... for a woah is me moment again..... WILL I EVER CATCH A BREAK WITH THIS HOUSE! UGH.

The irony of the situation was that I was going in there to clean it out (I have a bookcase, plastic shelf and my printer in there)

I want to go back in there and clean but I also don't want to get bit by a stupid rat. (Or scream at the top of my lungs)

You could name it, and if it doesn't like the handle, it may feel insulted, and flee.

I catch most of my rats (attracted to my fruit trees) using dog kibble with a wooden snap trap.

I moved my dogs food, because they are free fed. I have a plastic trap set, I am going to buy some more of them and maybe put a live trap under the house. I am gonna clean that bathroom out today and hope it doesn't get me lol

The metal box live traps work fairly well. We used them in the pantry where the cats don't go. That is the only place that has mice right now bc the bastards chewed through the metal mesh to get in. I still need to patch that up. I'll stuff steel wool in and I think I'll plaster over the rest of the mesh that is over large gaps.

Shan, are you planning to run the ducting up and then back down again? Might be better off with the slim rigid ducting stuff. I'm guessing you are keeping washing machine closer to that back wall to reach the water? Will you be getting a longer cord for the dryer? And do you have the 4 prong outlet and plug or 3 prong? I feel you on things going wrong with the house. Every time we fix something, another thing seems to go wrong.

Took out trash, got a molasses lick for the cows, been going to the store and grabbed some stuff for my friend. He needed some pipes for re-doing his shower and some tablecloths for his wedding. Found some tablecloths on sale for 97 cents each.

Last night Princess (the dog) walked over me and decided to park her butt directly on top of my head. She didn't seem to understand why I was trying to push her off of my head. LOL.I gave her a hug and she licked my face.

Well, it's done.... these knees aren't what they used to be. I scrubbed the inside and outside of the toilet.

I think I am going to get rid of that over the toilet thing. It is super flimsy. I have a small 3 shelf bookcase that I can put in there with those fabric cubbies and hide most of that stuff. I need to pull that toilet up and remove the flooring I replaced a few years ago. It feels bubbled up in part of it. I but OSB down if I remember correctly, instead of plywood. So, the toilet can't be used because as it is, it's too close to the wall (literally touching it). I need to pull it and the floor up and get one of those toilet offsets so that it can come forward a bit, which would mean I would have to cut up part of the floor anyways. Now that I emptied the half bath out I have all kinds of stuff to file that I have printed off and it sat on my printer, so I am going to do that.

I got a good deal on a filing cabinet at Wal-Mart the other day. I love it when the Good Lord above sends me little God winks. I was looking at the cabinets was aghast at how much they are now. They had a 3 drawer in that I really liked but it was like $65 and I was like noo wayyy. So I jist decided I'd look at Habitat for something, possibly spray paint it if needed.
I was using scan and go and decided to go back to the clearance aisle and get some reusable shopping bags to put everything in and low and behold, there sat the exact filing cabinet I wanted for $25 off. So it was like $38. I had already been in the clearance aisle once and it wasn't there then.... call me crazy, but he's so so good to me.

@zannej I plan to take it across the floor behind the washer and then use that periscope piece I have to go between the washer and wall up to the front of the washer and then flexible hose from there to the exit that is already there (close to floor).
I found what I actually need but it's upwards of $100 😳. I can just be not thrilled with the laundry room for that.

Now it says $25.99 but when you look at the pictures it isn't this one, and a search brings up all kinds between 80 and 125 and that's just ridiculous.

As far as electric, when I had electrical work done, he did not put the outlet where I wanted it, however where I wanted it would have been much more involved I think. I do have longer dryer cords and washer discharge hose, I bought them years ago when I first tried to do this and found it wouldn't work.

So, I'm off to go through these papers.
I have roast in the crockpot with carrots and potatoes.... no onions because my son didn't tell me that he used the last few we had. Excited about a yummy dinner.

Shan, bathroom looks great! I was going to say the shelf thingy looked good-- enough space to take the tank lid off-- but if its flimsy you definitely don't want that.
For the toilet flange, Ron linked something awhile back that is supposed to reduce the chance of water getting under the floor boards. OSB will absolutely need to go and be replaced with plywood. I'm going to have to do the same in Mom's bathroom. The OSB squishes. If you have to tear up the floor, you might not have to get an offset flange to bring the toilet forward a bit. You might be able to reposition the PVC (if its PVC under there) a little. Depends on whether or not there is any wiggle room with it. You've done a great job thus far!
I wonder if you can make a cover for the dryer vent ducting that can be removed if necessary, but that will just look like a little ledge/shelf or something to make it not look as ugly. I'm seeing the ducting stuff on amazon and the longer ones are over $100. Trying to find it for less though. What is the minimum length you need?
This one goes to 50" and is $52.47 https://www.amazon.com/Whirlpool-4396014-29-Inch-50-Inch-Periscope/dp/B0049I9OYC/

I couldn't find Mewlatto last night when I fed the kitties so I woke up worried and started looking for him. He was hiding on the lower shelf of the baker's rack so I was trying to lure him out with canned food. I always split the can between Mew, Itsy, Boo, and Rupert. Boo was outside so I went out to look for him. Decided to take a little walk and then saw the cow's water trough was low. The hose had broken so I took the remains of the hose off of the hose bib, put a splitter on, tried to put the new hose on but it didn't want to go so I took the splitter off to make attaching it to the hose easier. then put it back on. It looks like a Y and has two little knobs to turn for each outlet. Got the one for another hose off. Got old hose detached from the float filler thing and then got the new hose on (after I dumped the trough out completely and hosed it down a little to rinse it-- and hosed my shoes and my pants unintentionally. It's all hooked up now and the trough is filling.

After that I used my new Gorilla cart to haul trash to the burn pile. Boo came up to me as I was doing that so I picked him up and brought him in for the canned food.

My friend is wanting to do some painting over at his house today so I might go over and help. I told him if he tapes stuff off I'll do all the painting if he wants. He's tired from working on plumbing yesterday.

Watched "The Exodus Decoded" on the Tubi app featuring Simcha Jacobovici, who has done a lot of Bible documentaries. He pins the Exodus to 1500 BC, which a lot of people argue against, but if you want an argument on anything, get 5 PhD's together and let them speak and let the spit fly like you invited 5 different versions of Frasier Crane. They disagree on everything.

The Documentary is real good, and explores all the plagues and how they could have happened, the parting of the Red Sea, which wasn't the actual location, and the possible location of the real Mt. Sinai.

We will probably never know all the answers until we die or have a near death experience (people say you know everything about the world instantly, but are not allowed to come back with all the knowledge)... Regardless, the one thing I'm hung up on is the age of the Earth.

If the Exodus was roughly 3500 years ago, could the creation of the Earth have been 4.5 Billion years ago? Well yeah, I guess, but why and how? Why would the separation of time between the first book of the Bible and the second book be Billions of years? It doesn't make any sense, and it doesn't correlate with Adam and Eve since one can track the lineage between Adam and Jesus roughly, and many say Adam and Eve dated back to 4004 BC.

Not only that, but there cannot be any separation in Genesis with the creation. On day 5, God created everything that swam in the Sea and everything that Flew in the Air, but he didn't create anything for them to eat until Day 6, when he also created Humans. There couldn't possibly be any break in between the 6 days of creation unless he made it so none of the Fish and Birds had to eat anything to survive until Humans and edible plants and edible animals were created Billions of years later on Day 6.

It makes no sense and completely eviscerates any possibility of the Earth being Billions of years old, and also eliminates in my mind the possibility that we ever had an "Ice Age" or a "Warming Period"... We have had them every year since the beginning of time, with the exception mostly of the Equatorial regions that maintain a relatively stable temperature year round.

That's my thesis, now give me my PhD!

No word from my friend and Mom's computer just died. She said she didn't know what was wrong, I looked inside with a flashlight through the clear side panel and it is absolutely crawling with roaches. She keeps food and trash all around her desk and computer which attracts the roaches. I try to clean up as much as I can but she gets mad if I touch stuff near her desk and taking out trash is supposed to be my brother's job. Now we need to get her a new computer and get the data off the old one.
