Also, I am thinking about buying a push connect washer inlet/outlet box. Or..... cutting off some of the copper and changing to pex and installing a pex box. WWYD?
That’s what I’m doing. There was galvanized water pipes in the house originally and then after adding the laundry room they transitioned to CPVC. It’s really pretty messy. During my kitchen update, i was removing sections of galvanized under the house and replacing with pex and I broke the galvanized line that went from the main crawlspace, under a slab, to the laundry addition. To fix that problem, I ran a Pex line up a kitchen wall to the attic and then down to the laundry room (which is on a slab). So now, there is just CPVC and Pex in the laundry room and the galvanized has been cut out.

I’m going to remove more CPVC and replace with Pex to a new Pex-A type washer box. I will still have to use a push to connect coupler to transition to the existing CPVC that feeds a bathroom behind this laundry wall.

There’s the old galvanized lines

Believe it or not, those are the valves for the washer.

This is where I brought in the new supply lines after the galvanized broke. Note the previous owner used the wrong colors for hot and cold.

I didn’t get much done today because I had a reaction to something and my throat started to swell up so I took a couple hours off. Also, it rained for a while but here’s where I am today. I had to remove the water heater that I installed last month. That’s okay because I wasn’t satisfied with the install anyway. Luckily, we have two water zones in this house. Each zone has its own water heater. The zone that is shut off right now is just for the laundry and bathroom #4. We don’t use it much but Ruby has tried to flush that toilet 3 times so far since the water has been shut off

In your case, I wouldn’t be afraid to use push to connect. I’m starting to have a lot more faith in them. I have a few push to connect fittings that I installed 3 years ago and they are fine.

Yesterday I went to Alexandria with Mom and pushed her all around the mall in her wheelchair. No way she would have managed with her walker. We were looking for shoes for her to wear to the 2 weddings. She has hammertoes so its hard to find things that fit her comfortably. One of the stores that didn't have wide shoes told us to try another store in the mall called Cato. Very sweet of the lady to direct us that way. We went there and Mom saw a blazer she liked that was on clearance for $13.99 (was normally $44.99). She tried it on and liked the fit. No decent shoes though. then we ventured into Burlington and I found a pair of shoes that fit her. she was worried they would fall off but I reminded her I got some bands that go under the shoe and over the top of the foot to hold them on so she was satisfied. Those were $12.99. Went to IHOP afterward and then to Samsclub. I wish I'd done a curbside order because I had to load all 5 cases of water into the cart myself and grab a couple other heavy things and then get stuff that mom picked up. Had to then transfer everything to the truck. Mom insisted that I needed to get hay for the cows even though they have plenty of grass now. So I had to lug a bale of hay in as well. Oh, we briefly stopped at my friend's house to hang out for a bit but there was no room on the couch so I had to sit on the floor. I was exhausted and sore. Cooked dinner for her and racked out.

This morning I got up early and managed to get my portable tablesaw into the back of my truck-- although I dropped it on my foot a couple of times. So my foot looks like this:

My ankles are slightly swollen from being on my feet for too long. Anyway, I brought some tools over, took him to the lumber yard and grabbed stuff. Then helped him unload it all. He needed a brad nailer so I went home and grabbed my compressor, brad nailer, and a pack of nails. I held boards still while he cut some with the miter saw (they were heavy on one end so I held them up). He messed up some cuts so I went back and grabbed a couple more 2x4s from the lumber yard. Popped in to Walmart for cheap painting tarps, tape, and some shelf brackets. Got my friend to sit down for a few minutes while I painted the walls around the new entertainment center he built. It dried fast so I got a 2nd coat on. Called to check on Mom and she said we were out of oranges. Painted half of the hallway-- first coat-- and needed a break. Friend's fiance cooked some kind of bean soup and I had two bowls of it before doing some more painting in the hallway. Friend said it was time to call it a night-- was after 7pm-- so I went to grab oranges from Walmart and headed home. He got my table saw put back in the truck for me and I had my brother unload it and bring it in the house-- he was asleep when I left in the morning and he was sick all day.

Cooked for Mom and am now lying down. Can't find the cord to plug in m heating pad. Will be going over tomorrow for 2nd coat of paint and see what else my friends need help with. Saturday is the wedding and I volunteered to come over early to help set up. My back hates me right now and I'm pretty sure I burned a lot of calories. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight.

Today I woke up to jackhammers. They were doing street work near by. Not the best thing to wake up to but happy they are getting it done!
I really wish they would replace our street but it isn't a high priority for the county. Our street is a dead end with 16 owners on it. The county comes out once a year and patches the holes and calls it good. I asked the workers last year if they were ever going to resurface the street. He said, "Probably not."

I try to get to know all my neighbors. Last year we had a neighborhood meeting at the place labeled, "Two Cabins Lodge." It's pretty amazing. The woman who owns Two Cabins is on the show, "Barnwood Builders," fairly frequently. It looks like a tiny cabin from the street but it goes down and back toward the lake. Inside it is huge. There are 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is actually a "Bunk room". All in total, it will sleep 21 people. It's a vacation rental now but she has it up for sale occasionally. At 4:58, you can see our boat house.

I need to get some supplies for my project soon. I need some drywall and the only way I have to get it home is on my trailer. It's raining today so maybe Saturday or Sunday.

It rained briefly last night so I was glad my table saw wasn't in the truck at the time. Phone woke me up reminding me of a doctor's appointment on Monday. Itsy just now climbed on me and started cooing in my ear. Pretty sure she wants canned food. Rupert just joined her and is rubbing his face on my chin. I'm going to get a little more rest before I get up. Have stuff to do at home before I go over to my friend's house to finish painting. Hoping the bruises on my foot won't make it difficult to wear dress shoes I got for the wedding.

Every school morning, we wake up to the sound of a bass speaker in a car. Some kid picking up another one for school.

I hate when people have their bass up so high that it makes windows of other cars shake. And people play some of the worst sounding crap on it.

Cooked for Mom and then went over to friend's house for round 2 of painting. Took my brother with me-- he was hoping to get his hair dyed but had to leave for work before the bride could help him with it. I'll help him with it when he gets home. I had to drive him back to the house though. Forgot to bring over some charged batteries, but friend was still happy that I finished painting the hallway. I brought my own paint roller bc the ones he had sucked. Popped in to the post office, stuck my key in the box and the entire lock pushed into the box and came off. Got my mail and went up to the counter with the lock and told the clerk that the lock broke off. It had been loose and I told her about it over a week ago. She apologized and said she'd meant to fix it. I told her it was ok and that I knew she was busy. She said she couldn't wait for them to hire more people to help her and that she would fix it before she left for the day. Friend who moved to Michigan came down for the wedding. He was having back pain so I gave him shiatsu massage.

Mom wanted McDonalds filet of fish so I got one for her and headed back home. Meant to take a nap but haven't done it yet. I decided to bedazzle a mask for the wedding tomorrow. I hope the E6000 will hold. Need to wait about 4 hours for it to grab I think. I'm about to add more stuff to my shoes because I'm bored and can't get to sleep. I'll be going over to my friend's house slightly early to help with setting up. I'll probably saute some mushrooms and bring them in a container for the friend who moved to Michigan.

Boo just came in and is sitting on my left arm and hand.

They did some work on our road 2 years ago. It's only 2 miles long and doesn't get much traffic. That did a little patching and the a chip and seal over that. It's a little bumpy. One of the township trustees delivers stone for me occasionally. He was here when they were working on it and mentioned a couple neighbors, there are only 14 houses, were complaining they didn't do a full repave to make it smooth. I told him the bumpier it is the slower they'll drive. He laughed and said he wished more people saw it that way. I say good enough save the money.

So... I didn't go to work today, my hip and back are really bothering me. It bothered me so much yesterday that I was having even worse concentration problems. I went to urgent care and they did several xrays, but won't be read until Monday, and prescribed some heftier NSAIDS. I'm waiting on that to be filled. I usually go to Sam's on Dunday during my work week, but may attempt to stop by there today since I am already out and about.

Still haven't killed this dumb rat. I need to switch up the bait or something. Maybe use chunky peanut butter instead of smooth. Idk

It's 54° here today. I am getting excited for warmer weather. These were my flowers the other day, I need to weed the area pretty badly. Not happening while my hip and back are acting up though.
I can't wait for warmer, dryer, weather so that I can take everything out of the garage and go through it and get my tools more organized.

Have a great weekend!

Shan, I hope your hip and back get feeling better.

I'm sore all over and tired. Couldn't sleep much last night because my brain didn't want to let me. I attempted to bedazzle a mask for the wedding but the glue didn't take. Went into town to get cough meds for my brother and grab something to carry my phone, wallet, and keys instead of my usual bulky pouch. My shirt doesn't have pockets and my pants have the pockets sewn shut.

Did get Mom to try on her full outfit for the wedding last night and it looked good. I don't like how my shirt hangs open at the top too much so I had a nice cloak clasp but last night it fell and disappeared. Looked all over and can't find the damn thing. Will have to use something else.

While I was at Walmart I messaged my friend asking if he needed anything and he said "Chairs. LOL." so thought he was joking. Turns out he wasn't joking. Even though I reminded him 2 weeks ago that he needed to get some chairs, he either forgot or was too busy. Said about 40 people said they were coming and he only had 19 chairs. I managed to get 12 more but told him they are all going in my workshop afterward. Not leaving them to get stolen like other stuff of mine that was borrowed.

Before I went to the store I unloaded all of the cases of water, the cat food, the dog treats, and cleared out space for my brother to sit in the back seat. He was supposed to help me but he was coughing up a lung. Just got back and ate a salad. I'm about to hop in the shower and then saute some mushrooms.

Shan, hope your issues are resolved... Be CAREFUL with NSAIDS... They can take you out. I took 3 Celebrex in 2004 and they retired me pretty much. My Heart is shot because of that... Even Motrin put a hole in my GI, caused a Hiatal Hernia and all the IBS that comes from that, Leaky gut which led to Leaky Liver and Leaky Heart and Leaky Kidney and Leaky Brain etc...

I would HIGHLY recommend getting into Acupuncture right away...

Ive been taking 200mg Celebrex for 12 years, once a day. Because of taking this, i need to take 20mg. Omeprazole to stop the stomach acids from eating my stomach.

I took Prilosec for 2 years and quit, and the acid came back like a Dam exploding... My buddy said to take a Tsp of Baking Soda in water for a week and it went away, haven't had reflux in 19 years unless I eat something I know will wreck me.

Yes, they can be terrible. I am not supposed to take them long term because I have had Lap-band surgery. I took one dose yesterday and it caused a lot of facial flushing about 1.5 hours after I took it. So idk that I will take any more of it. I may just stick to the occasional Ibuprofen. I am sure that it's Osteoarthritis, but I did fall 7 weeks ago, so we will see what the xrays say. It did help *some* not much.

Made bucket steak (cubed steak) in cream of mushroom soup, in the slow cooker for dinner. Feeling too lazy to make mashed potatoes so I bought Bob Evans pre-made mashed potatoes to go with it and will probably make some peas.
Hopefully it will be yummy. Back to work for the next 3 days, and then I will be off for 7 days. Hopefully I will be able to get at least a few things done.
I ordered this but it won't be here until after I go back to work probably.

SUNGATOR Laundry Washer Valve Box, Washing Machine Outlet Box, 1/2 Inch Push-Fit Inlet x 3/4 Inch MHT Outlet, Washer Water Faucet Recessed Wall Box with Center Drain https://a.co/d/jluzYjW

Hopefully I ordered the right thing. 🙄

@havasu What has been your experience with celebrex?

@Spicoli43 unfortunately, would have to go into credit card debt in order to go to an acupuncturist currently. There are only 2 listed in my area, 1 has good reviews but seems kinda gimmicky, the other ones reviews are old and mixed.

Off to eat dinner... hope everyone had a good weekend.

I took a shower, sauteed the mushrooms and then had trouble getting Mom to get dressed. We were almost late and my brother was part of the wedding party. But a lot of people were actually late so we had to wait anyway. Wedding ceremony was about 4min and then friend danced with his new wife and then with his mother. His wife danced with her step father and bio father. Photos were taken at a bench seat thingy. Then we had food. Well, most of the guests had food. Most of the food had stuff in it that I couldn't eat or was just something I didn't like, which is fine bc it wasn't my wedding and my friend knows i'm a picky eater. So I had some watermelon, a piece of bread, some chips, and cake. Went home and ate a ham sandwich. LOL. My friend who came from Michigan ate about 6 bowls of the gumbo. He loved it.

Other than people's wheelchairs and heels sinking in the soft dirt in the backyard, it all went well. Friend's daughter wasn't feeling well but she perked up after the ceremony. Got home and helped Mom get her stuff taken off and put away and then racked out.

My entire body hates me this morning and my legs in particular. Was having charlie horses in them both. Right leg would not unknot for 10min. I had to get up and stand on just it to get it to stop knotting just below the knee and on the ankle. Took magnesium and will eat a banana soon.

Not looking forward to my cousin's son's wedding since it will be more formal and last longer.
