Bathroom bathtub repair

Hi,

I've started seeing small 'stretch marks' on the tub. Please see the photo for info.

Is this repairable? How can I repair it my self?

Can't really see much from further away
I don't know whether this is a fiberglass issue or something else.

Thanks, the photos show that this is a one piece unit, so, what you may be seeing are stress cracking.

When you step in, does it you feel solid, or do you feel any off setting or sinking as you move around?

This feels pretty solid. Doesn't sink or move under my 240lbs.

I'll try this.

On a side note, do you think it is ok to caulk the tub, then paint it?
Does it even make sense to paint a bathtub?
Would that help with future stress cracks?

Why absolutely, you can refinish the tub, but please read the product instructions, and carefully follow them.

Before you attempt the repair suggested, review the refinishing process first, as refinishing, in some cases maybe a 2 day process and could require removing the repair and replacing, with another product.

There are even Low VOC DIY tub refinishing kits on the market. How well they work, I don't know- but it might be worth looking into. Some of those kits are dangerously high in VOC and the off-gassing lingers for days. (Did a sink once. Glad it was outdoors!)
