I’m re-caulking an old tub/surround and unfortunately ended up removing a couple layers of glazing around the edge. I assume it’s glazing and not paint, although I don’t know the difference between the two. Can I touch up the glazing or do I need to re-glaze?

This home has changed hands many times in the 20 years before we purchased it (2021) and used to be a duplex, before becoming a single family (2010), but I’m sure it was a rental.48BF4A16-5B2F-4915-BAA4-90A1ABB6F33B.jpeg27812252-0E85-4E8F-9D81-7FC108D1D1ED.jpeg

It appears to be a resurfacing coating that's been applied. Be careful removing the old caulk. Silicone caulk will not bond to old sili one caulk. So, be sure to carefully remove the old caulking. To getting a clean caulk joint, use painter tap to caulk the wal and also the tub. Leave a width of the. Aulk joint. Apply a bead of caulk, wet your finger, smooth the caulk, then carefully take off the tap.
