Hi. what are some of the most common problems you encounter while painting? How do you overcome them? Also, where do you go to get the cheapest supplies, for someone who lives in Canada?

Another question. What is the cheapest way to paint a home as to increase its resale value, with no regards for other factors? I am doing this for a friend, I swear.

thanks.

The biggest problem your friend will encounter is inexperiened help. The cheaper the paint the more coats you have to do. Drop sheets and a safe ladder are a must. Filling holes and dents are more important than the paint job and when ever you can repaint with the same color.

Blistering is another common wall painting problem. It takes place when the surface being painted on is wet. Thus, it's recommended that you check whether the surface you're painting on is damp and if it is, you must permit it to dry before applying any paint. This is another typical outdoor wall problem where the moisture in the atmosphere tends to settle on the surface, making it wet. As a consequence, when you start painting, the moisture lifts up the paint causing blistering.

:)

Failure to spend the time to prep the surface (patching, sanding, priming, etc...).
Don't expect a quality job using cheap materials, you will get what you pay for.

There are various problems encountered while painting. Blistering is one of the most common problems that is caused by moisture pressure when exposed to the sun.
