Thank you for the info; however, when cost is a factor, film tint resolved my problem and may work for others, where cost is a factor also; (a temporary fix or a permanent fix?)

I understand the cost part of it, but it also becomes a pay me now or pay me later type deal. The insulation factor being gone will cost you forever until you can replace the door glass. Glad the film worked for you.
