OK- the story is vapor barrier goes against the heated area. So, kraft paper is up against the first floor sub-floor.

I am now finishing off and heating/AC (most of the time) the basement - turning that 1st floor insulation into an inner wall insulation.

Should I remove it all - pull the kraft paper off and re-install it?

i want it there for sound insulation.

The basement ceiling will be a combination of dropped and sheetrock (around duct work)

Thanks!

I didn't remove the insulation or the facing before I drywalled my ceiling last month. The basement is now a conditioned space with heat and air conditioning so the air will be drier. The building inspector didn't make any comments on the subject when he did the insulation inspection.
