My house has heavy tree cover( and with my metal roof which makes leaves slide down faster) it is clogged 30 minutes after I clean it. I have tried various gutter coverings over the last 20 years and none have really worked well. They all clog eventually and depending on what I have on them, then cleaning is a pain.
So- I tried the new / improved models:

This turned into a disaster. The first good storm we had the water pushed ran upwards over the guards and ran down the inside wall of my home. Nobody can tell me why it happened?? The only thing I can guess is that the gutters need to be lower so that there is more of a slant downwards. Any ideas?
So now I’m back to what I used to do which is put on the sreen rolled type of covering. Putting it on, I now remember why I hated this stuff 25 years ago!
One last issue: I have a leak around my downspout. Is there a really good caulk or sealant anybody can recommend?

If you visit their cat. you will see that the sample on the first page is on a roof with maybe a 6/12 pitch. In the background of that picture they show a roof with something like a 12/12 pitch If they installed it on that roof the deverter may be sitting almost flat. I could see that as a problem. Just guessing.
