My kitchen has vinyl floor and it slides leaving a gap between them. How do I prevent it from sliding?

No, only a couple of planks close to the transition from vinyl floor to carpet.

100 % sure there was an expansion gap between the to two different types of flooring and the flooring was not nailed to the subfloor?
Vinyl planks should lock together and not come apart unless it was installed wrong.

Get some vinyl floor glue and lay something flat and heavy on top. Could probably use any glue made for vinyl or plastic.
