Is there a better option for this gutter section?

We have this gutter section (shown in red) that is functional but dirty, has some minor dings in a few places and just looks like an eyesore to me. We're preparing this house for sale so I am concerned that it'll be an eyesore to potential buyers too. Should I replace it with a shorter section as is shown in green? There is no basement on this side of the house, so should I really need such a long horizontal section to move water away from the house?

Someone, at some time either foresaw, or was visited, by the potential of the water draining down the valley, too overtop the ability of the single downspout, (in green) to accommodate that volume, causing a potential erosion of the side yard, and installed that section, (in red) to mitigate that potential.

I'd just replace it.
