I'm not new, but I tend to come and go with long periods in between. For some reason, I move, buy a house, and find things were not as they seemed and the inspector missed it. It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't an old broad, single income. I try to channel my daddy who was handyman personified. I hear his counsel in my ear, but sometimes I have to ask questions. I'm pretty fearless, have a good collection of tools, and two cats that are no help whatsoever.
I live outside of Vegas now, just had a new dishwasher installed crooked, a refrigerator sitting crooked, some mystery water stains in the garage ceiling that I don't know whether they are new or expanding. But I have a roof over my head, a good office job, and weekends where I try to figure things out while I watch sci-fi or documentaries on science, nature, history, and other really boring stuff I find fascinating!
