I have a '50s ish porch swing I moved from the porch to the yard. I don'tknowthe orig wood, but used poplar to gird it up ~ 5 years ago.
The poplar has rotted where nailed/screwed. Except for the pieces I replaced, most of the orig wood seems ok. It was scraped, primed, painted with the stuff I use on my barns.
What type of wood do I need? Or should I just give up on the rustic look and use synthethic?
