Painting brick veneer

Hello
We just had a large hail storm and had to replace all of the siding on our house. We have brick veneer on part of the house its a split level. I was thinking about painting the veneer since the color of the brick is a straight beige color. One handyman said it was fine. One said it isn't good for the brick. I wanted to ask you guys and get a better idea

I've seen lots of issues with painting brick. The problem is retaining moisture and the freeze thaw cycle. Look at stains instead of paint if that's the direction you want to go. Just my 2 cents.

The thing with painting brick is once you start you then have a project repainting every so many years.
