Hello,
I need to convert an old 3-valve shower setup to a symmons single value. I know that you usually add a decorative plate to cover the unused holes in the tile from the old hot and cold water knobs. I need to know how large the existing center hole needs enlarged to accommodate the new symmons value. The wall is wire lath and plaster covered with ceramic tile.
I have access from behind the wall to be able to get to all of the pipes without having to go through the tile but I don't know if the existing center hole needs to be enlarged or not.
On page 2 of this diagram,
https://www.symmons.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/3530B_3531B_3532B_ZV3174.pdf
the wall cutout hole size is listed as 3-1/2" to 4". Is this the correct dimension? I am not sure exactly which model symmons will be used but my recollection is that the back side is more or less the same for all of them.
Information would be appreciated,
Thanks,
