Hello,

I am planning to seal the side door permanently. I have worked with stucco before where I had to remove a window and place a french door. During that process, I used a hammer and knocked out the stucco to widen the area.

This project, looks like I don't have to knock out any stucco. So the question is would the patch yield the same result if the new stucco meets the old stucco in a straight line vs cracked edges like I have done before?

I took out a window and blocked it in and stuccoed over it to match the surrounding area. As I recall the trick is to chip away at the existing edge so when you feather the new stucco into the old it won't be to a straight edge.
Just checked.....5 years later and you would never know there had been a window there.
