Here is Ohio all casinos are corporate owned. I think the place in Toledo (well actually Rossford) is a waste of space. Especially since you said the took out the buffet. I have been in there a half dozen times to eat but that's it. I got a card with $25 on it from them when I went there the first time. It still has $25 on it.
I think the casino is actually in Toledo and that's the Toledo city limits...
Monday's veterans can eat for 1/2 price at the 3 remaining casino restaurants... I'm partial to the fried shrimp and french fries... they cook that good... veterans get a special membership card (free) and a free meal on Veteran's Day... it's pretty easy to turn the $25 of 'house money' into $20-30 of real money...

I loved that show! No matter what happened, the answer was always to jump in the airplane and fly somewhere with his niece Penny. My favorite of all his airplanes was the Cessna 310.
I didn't think you were even old enough to know about that show... I think I loved Penny more... just looked her up, in her 20s during that show, older than they pretended she was, I thought she was my age... she died back in 2010 at age 78... I'll be 75 this month, Dolly Parton will be 77 that day, Gen. Robert E. Lee much older...

I have to admit, I was very young when it was on TV. The series ended in 1962 and I would have been 7 that year. I just remember an airplane and a cute girl. I couldn’t tell you a plot to a single episode.

Here's a 5 cylinder radial motorcycle (Megola) engine mounted in the front wheel. Some would argue that it's a rotary but to me inline, V and radial imply cylinder arrangement rather than whether the cylinders or the crankshaft is stationary. Some say a Harley engine design is merely 2 cylinders of an 8 cylinder radial.

That’s a neat bike! I can see why you’d call it rotary since the crank is stationary.

I am the same age. My uncle had a twin engine plane (I'm now looking for pics of it), and remember asking him if he was the real "Skyking"?

I get that but the cylinder layout is still radial. I'm just a persnickety engineer.

So, I started cleaning the other day but got really dizzy and had to lie down. I was exhausted the rest of the day. Mom wanted me to take it easy but my brother was letting the trash overflow again. I cleaned up in the hallway and dumped the contents into a bag I'd already pulled out of the kitchen trash can (it still had room for stuff). Tied it off. Pulled the other bag out of the kitchen trash. Filled it up more. Filled a bag of trash in the living room. I set some stuff aside. On the way to my brother's doctor's appointment I grabbed one of the bags and hauled it outside. My brother saw me so he grabbed two more bags and brought them out. I've been trying to keep trash off the kitchen floor and am slowly making progress on getting stuff cleared up. Pulled the bag I filled out of the living room and have it set in the kitchen for now (can't see in the front room to drag it through).
My brother's blood sugar was over 480. His A1C was 10 point something. So, he needs to cut back on the carbs. He has a medicine that is supposed to help with his insulin resistance but his insurance has been dicking him around and refusing to approve it for over 6 months. They never denied it, but just left it in limbo. Doctor said he would re-write the scrip. Also told my brother to talk to Joe (the best pharmacist in the area) to find out what his insurance might cover in terms of those blood sugar readers. They wouldn't cover Freestyle Libre but they might cover Dexcom G6 (or some other version).
I briefly told the doctor I need to make an appointment and showed him how little mobility I have in my shoulder. He said I might need physical therapy and suggested some stretches and methods of trying to unlock it. Said if I don't it might become permanent. I mentioned something I saw online with pulleys where you pull down with one arm while holding a handle with both and it raises the other arm up. He said that one was good and I ordered one.

Been having a lot of shoulder/arm pain while trying to sleep. Can't get comfortable.

Other than cleaning, I cooked shepherd's pie for Mom. While at Walmart I got a flimsy set of plastic drawers (they don't have stury ones) to put in the living room for Mom to clear some stuff off her desk. I cleared a spot for it and she was happy when I brought it in.

I'm probably going to nap again in a few minutes. Had to get up and take my meds.

Never heard of the Sky King show before. I wonder if my father had any interest in it or if he ever saw it. He was always fascinated with planes. He used to have dreams that he'd been a fighter pilot in a previous life. When he was in Vietnam he intuitively knew how to fly one of the planes they had there (can't remember which one) and was able to fly it with very little instruction. Got 21 air medals during the war. He also got a bronze star or something, but some of his accolades were missing from his military records bc they derped and lost his records somehow. He should not have been in the year range affected by the fire, but they told him that his records somehow got lost or destroyed in the fire. He had to get affidavits from people he worked with in order to fill out at least some of it.

My car parts (ignition coils & spark plugs) arrived today. Need to find a day when my buddy is free to help me install them and make sure I have all the right tools.

Whoa, that's incredible!

Zanne, when I was in my 50s Imy right shoulder froze. he doc said he could break it loose or I could do exercises. A rope and pulley was one of them. I forget the others but I devised others by getting to the pain point and pushing or pulling just a bit farther. The pulley was the best though. I tigged mine with parts from Ace Hardware.

As for flying just looking at all those gauges would intimidate me.

Thinking about the rotary-radial engine I guess the engine becomes the flywheel. That may not be important with a airplane or boat but might be with a small car.

When I worked in the Denver area there was a P-51 Mustang tied down amongst the Pipers and Cessnas. The 11.2' span of the four bladed prop looked even larger sitting amongst them. One of our techs was an enthusiast and met the owner. The owner taxied a lot to get used to the torque of the Merlin V12 engine before flying it and bringing it home from the desert. He removed the 2 stage supercharger to improve range and eliminated the behind the seat gas tank to install a second seat. The Merlin engines were built by Packard under license from Rolls Royce.

I hadn't heard of the F-82 apparently 272 of these twin Mustangs were built.

You forgot the flat 2, 4, 6, 8? cylinder boxer engine design... guess those and the V4, V6, V8, V10, V12, and V16 could be considered radials with some of the cylinders stacked up behind the others instead of below them... then there's the Messerschmitt upside down V12...

With 5 or more cylinders and overlapping power pulses, the flywheel becomes less important...
.
Charles Lindbergh went out into the Pacific during WWII and showed the pilots how to get much more cruising range out of their planes... the pilots were afraid it would damage the engines, but it worked... (later, car engines included similar tricks in the distributor with vacuum timing advance)... as I recall, during that process, Lindbergh also became the only civilian pilot to shoot down an enemy Japanese plane...

At least with flathead Ford V-8s guys that switched to lighter flywheels found they can deliver the inertia of a heavier flywheel at increased rpm but more clutch slippage to get the vehicle moving in normal traffic.

Yeah, the aluminum flywheels are more for quicker revving and lighter vehicle weight when racing or in light vehicles... I'm considering an aluminum flywheel for the Buick aluminum V8 in my MG Midget since it only weighs 1800 lbs...

I ordered a pulley thing with soft grip handles that goes over the door. Even if I have to nail it to the archway in the kitchen I'm going to try it. Doctor suggested the crawling up the wall method but I couldn't get my arm to cooperate. There is a physical therapist in town but I think they are expensive without insurance. But insurance is super expensive here so going without will probably be cheaper.

I'm going to see if the pulley thing unlocks my shoulder. I hope it will. For some reason the deltoid and bicep really spasm when I get it above a certain height even if I'm not using them to lift & just pulling up with my other arm.

Friend demo'd a wall and found a door covered up between his room and his daughter's room. He's adding a hallway through her room so people don't have to walk into her bedroom to get to the bathroom. She's ok with a smaller room bc she'll have privacy. She apparently told friend's new GF "You're the best mom". Cuddles with her every day and is being such a sweetheart. Looking into getting her a loft bed. I've asked him to let me help with drywall so I can learn more about the process and get some practice mudding.

The PCV valve I ordered from Amazon says it is "delayed" and when I checked the tracking number it claims to be invalid. So, I don't know if they put in the wrong tracking number or if they didn't send it and lied. or if the USPS lost it again. They've lost a few of my packages in the past few months.

I was looking at Ridgeline forums and saw a possible fix for my tailgate sticking. The plastic retaining thingies break but someone replaced them with drywall anchors. I think my assembly is loose inside the tailgate so need to open it up and tighten it. Been watching lots of videos on how to fix stuff on the truck.

Also looking in to replacing the OEM head unit with a Joying GPS. It does standalone gps, android auto, and can get input from cameras. Also want a new backup camera bc mine sucks. Found one that will work with tailgate down and has the guides so I can judge distance better. My depth perception is a bit cruddy.
