Currently getting estimates to repair my veneer brick front home, and contractors are telling me two different things.
Basically, the veneer brick front sat on a floating driveway slab without proper footers. This causes movement.
Several contractors have told me the concrete needs cut underneath, dug below the frostline, and footers need poured to build the brick off of.
Another said I could bolt angle iron to above grade and above the driveway, bolt that to the foundation, and lay the brick off of that.
which is correct? Not really sure what the right way is. Most of the contractors I spoke to say to pour a footer.
