White spots on firewood

I cut a Bay tree a few months ago and have had the logs under this tarp for a few months. What are the white spots?

Some kind of mold or fungi, not enough space and air around then to dry properly.

i agree w/ nealtw. Your photo shows those logs laying on the ground in among decaying leaves and sticks, etc... That's not how you want to store firewood if you are expecting it to season properly. You need to get it up off of the ground, to remove it from ground moisture, and ensure it has some airflow to take the moisture away - tarping it just traps moisture.
