How tall should the backsplash area be?

By "backsplash area," I mean the area on the wall that is above the countertop and below the wall cabinets.

At my house, it's 13". If I did that here, it wouldn't fully cover the bottom portion of this wall. In other words, the top of the wall cabinet would not align with the joint at type bottom of the triangular piece of drywall. I suppose this isn't terribly important. If I did a 13" tall backsplash area, there would be 5.25" of the bottom part of the wall exposed. Can I do an 18.25" tall backsplash?

Also, what are my options for a cabinet in the lower right corner? The length of the back wall is 118 7/16". If I put a 30" stove and 36" base cabinet, that leaves me with 52 7/16".

If I put another 36" base cabinet, that leaves 16 7/16". I don't know if that's a good idea.

Are all corner base cabinets Lazy Susans? The old cabinets (pic attached) did not have a Lazy Susan in that corner.

All bag-n-box cabinets are available in lengths divisible by 3, so you could install a 15" dwr. base and a filler, or a 39" base and a 12" wall cabinet as a return around the corner.

How large can filler pieces be? If I put the stove right in the middle, that leaves me 44 7/32" on each side.

If you are putting it on the left you don't have to fill the whole space.
I would just go something like 30, 15, stove 12, 30. I think you can make any of them into a bank of drawers.
You try to work it out so you have small fillers if any. Sometimes you want to start with a small spacer at the wall cause the wall is crooked and you have to allow for the end panel if the other side is exposed.

Decide what you want your layout to be, go online and fill the space with that availability.

Yes you do have to have the corner cupboard. I have always put in the susan. My friend has two corners with shelves instead of the susan, they are much more usable than mine.
When you install them I always start in that corner.
