Using Formica metal laminate

Has anyone used Formica brand or similar metal laminate for countertop material. I have only used it as trim or decoratively for door fronts. I was wondering if it would take an occasional hot plate or pan.

M2178 Brushed Stainless Steel It is real metal but I think it still has a backing of some sort and that was my concern if a hot item would delaminate it even though the surface would not necessarily show a mark. The thickness is very thin and of course you would be gluing it onto a base. So I guess has anyone used this product and do they have experience with heat tolerance? I don't plan on setting hot things but things do happen.

Update now that office is open Formica's concern is the same as mine over time hot items could delaminate product from underlayment but an occasional setting of an item at no more than 250 degrees would be ok

I choose the high pressure laminate from Formica's brand and it was really easy to insall. Even if I wanted marble at the beggining, I am really satisfy and my wallet too!

Snoonyb's link did not work for me, but possibly referring to note that Metallic Formica sheets might have lacquer finish. If you really want to use it, one option would be to make yourself a matching "cutting board" and get in the habit of placing hot items on that. Keep in mind too, that Formica is very good about sending out samples. Find the place on the Formica web site where you can make the request, and they will promptly courier out a 5" x 7" sample.
