evaporator fan, Model # PFSF6PKXCBB. I removed 4 screws and unlatched the sides of the rear cover, but cannot removed the cover. It seems to be held on at the top of the cover somehow, and do not wan tot break it. I suspect ice buildup making the fan noisy.

Your fan may not need to come out if it is ice buildup. That would be a problem with the defrost system. Heater,defrost thermostat or defrost timer or control. Melt the ice with a hairdryer blowing on the rear cover and see if the fan is ok.
