Apron

Is putting an apron on the front of the garage a good idea?
If you have one, how far out from the building does it extend?

I would say that depends entirely what region you live in. Freeze/ thaw cycles and road salt all wreak havoc on concrete aprons. You can help by sealing the concrete with a siloxene every year but here in the N.east they don't hold up long before they start to spar and break up.
