cleaning around fridge and oven

Hi there.

How often does everyone clean around the fridge and oven?

I recently pulled the fridge out of its spot and checked around it, and found that the top had a a thick layer of dust, the bottom was full of food debris and coins, and the vent on the back side of the fridge was completely clogged with dust. Similar story for under and behind the oven once I pulled it out. It seems that these areas are easily ignored during cleaning.

(Also similar story when I changed a dishwasher. Although I would not pull the dishwasher out unless I am getting a new one, because I am worried about damaging the plumbing under it and causing leaks.)

Any comments or similar experiences?

I clean in, around and under both the fridge and range on an annual basis. My refrigerator last 20 to 25 years.

I clean mine twice a year. The last time I also found plenty of debris. No coins though. Have to say, not my favourite task.
