Hi all,

I get a professional fireplace company to inspect my gas fireplace and get a quote to pair the rear, side, and bottom refractory panel for $2000, otherwise risking burning down the house next time using the fireplace.

Looks to me there are gaps between the side and rear panel and I am wondering if I could fix it by hiring a handyman to apply some cement?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.fireplace 1.jpg fireplace 2.jpg

Yes, he would need to use refractory cement and then completely fill the gaps. $2,000 is a ridiculous price.

Well, hiring a usually handyman would be cheaper. If he can also inspect your fireplace, that would be perfect. I read in Allied Outdoor Solutions reviews that this type of work not necessarily should be done by professionals.
