So being in Illinois our summers get pretty toasty. And the garage cooks all day in the sun. So I want to try to change that.
For starters - 24x24 garage. 10 yr old. Soffits already installed.
So my plan is, to insulate the whole garage. Walls are pretty straight forward, simple as pie.
But I would like your thoughts on the roof/attic. I use the rafters for storage of my hunting stuff and things we don't need in the house.
What I want to do is insulate it like one would do a cathedral ceiling. Because I use the attic space for storage but it isn't enclosed. I plan on using baffles ran from the top plate to the ridge vent (which I need to install).
Would that help cool it down?
