Handyman or Plumbing Contractor?

I need to replace a secton of my water main (copper pipe) that has a leak. I patched the leak but don't want to learn copper braising on something this important so I plan to hire it done. I am sure this is well within the skill set of many professional handymen but have never before hired someone who was not a licnesed contractor. Are there professional handymen who have licensing and insurnace like a contractor would - or am I risking liability of they are hurt while working on my property?

If you are already that indecisive, just hire a plumber.

I second that advice. Hiring a professional contractor is the best way to go about this and the insurance, licensing, and expertise are very good reasons for that.

maybe consider a shark-bite fitting, no skill required.
