Good Eveing team.
Im looking at taking out the wall with the two cupboard doors on.
But theres a problem in that the ceiling strongbacks are currently sat atop this wall
My joists (in red) are only 100mmx50mm so can not support the full span, because of this there is a strongback (in green) running the length of the room and sitting ontop of the wall i want to take down.
There is a seperate strongback (in blue) that also sits atop of the same wall and continues on to the exterior wall.
Now, obviously if i take this wall down there is noting to support the two strongbacks, no support for the strongbacks means no support for the ceiling, not support for the ceiling, well SH#+T
My first thought was to take the wall out and put in a nice big chunky LVL beam (where the purple line is). But this would have it sitting ontop of the door lintle. Not Ideal !
Any thoughts?
