I finished my garage about a year ago and the last thing I did was put in the steel regular service door (not the opening garage doors). It was finished with a grey sealer primer. I think the grey color is fine but if you don't paint it, will it eventually start to wear down?

I think the gray primer will look nice for a while but it will eventually start to wear down and get chaulky. If you want to keep it gray, just paint it gray!

Agreed, paint it now before the primer starts to break down, a lot less work.:)

Some types of primer have to be painted over or they'll rust through... depends on what type it is. If you like the look, just get out your spray gun and a couple quarts of grey paint. :)
