Ran into this mess re-wallpapering. Considering cutting it out and replacing with sheet rock,or maybe some kind of patch.

Yeah, probably cut out and re-sheetrock it. But other people on here know better. If you want the experts to see this, you might want to rename the thread title to something more descriptive of your problem.
