So a few years ago I removed my countertops and tiles them...with black marble. Bad idea. The installation itself looks good but the tiles are terribly discolored, stained, and scratched.
I don't want to tear the tiles out.
I know it's possible to tile over tile but I'm concerned about the weight.
Can the cabinets handle the weight of another layer of tile?
When I did the install I removed the tops down to the cabinets. I then put 3/4 plywood over them, then backerboard, then the tile.
I can sit on the counter with no problems so I imagine that another layer of tile would be fine.
What do yall think?
