Hello,

I am having a plumbing cut a hole in the concrete floor of my shower in order to replace the damaged cast iron drain. My question is how to waterproof the new concrete once the job is complete. Would I be able to use a liquid waterproof membrane on the new concrete or will I have to tear up the rest of the shower floor to place a new membrane in?

Thank You,
Michael

Welcome.
The plumber shouldn't damage it beyond repair, however, if you need to add some 6mil plastic then caulk the lap over or use roof mastic.
