Ooh, pictures? I'd love to see how you organized the closets.
There's not much to show. I added a couple shelves, thought I was going to be doing a whole lot more, but my wife saw the shelves and told me that's all that was needed, project done. Apparently this wasn't a full closet remodel, just making a bit of unused space usable to get rid of a storage cubby thing that wasn't working out.

Switched my flour component from AP to Buckwheat recently. It's real good, the specs for the recipes are off, as in I need more Milk for the Biscuits, but it tastes good. I made 2 batches of Cookies and Biscuits and Gravy, but I should have "gently" introduced it...

I can picture being the Old man on Frasier and the British maid saying "Change your diet, did you? I noticed a bunch of Evil Spirits coming out of somebody's bum, and it isn't the Dog, his diet has been the same for 10 years. My air fresheners aren't working no matter how much I spray them and my candles are on the balcony threatening to jump... You don't pay me for that type of cleanup, so you better go read your paper in the loo"...

So... If you have a hankering to try Buckwheat if you have never had it, I suggest a clear schedule the following day, maybe both bathrooms stocked etc... I wouldn't go in "public" until you know how your system handles the changes, because my system said "Since you did that to us with no warning, enjoy the punishment."

Awww! A turtle! I saw a slider in the road the other day. Stopped to move it to the side of the road where it would be safe. Wish I'd had some water to pour on it because I think it was too dry. But it was gone when I came back (I was heading into town) so I assume it wandered off somewhere.

I'm hoping my friend will have time to come over tomorrow or Wednesday to help with the bathroom because I'm a bit stuck right now without a 2nd pair of hands. I know he's really busy and feeling overwhelmed though. I cheered him up by getting him food at least.

I cooked dinner and am about to get some sleep for the night.

G'day Girls and Boys...
First, let me apologize for just disappearing without notice... I am very sorry for raising your thoughts... Hope YOU all can forgive me...

I'm not sure when I was last here, but ended up having to put my pup down on January 16th, and hit me very hard... Found it very hard not having him anymore... When I put his brother down two years prior, that did me in, but still had Carl which made it a tad easier... But after Carl, it destroyed me and the wife... The house was so quiet and lonely... we had Carl for 15.5 years, and Lennie for 13... When we got them they were 5 weeks old...

We still have our days, but it's a little easier now... Think we went into a heavy depression... But we have joined the gym now, and try to go Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays most of the time... I even lost a few pounds...

Ok, I am back, but I will not be here every day till we get back to the colder weather... But I do promise to let YOU all know if I am going to be away for a bit... or whatever happens...

I also lost the name of the forum... But we are all set up again... and Glad to be back with YOU wonderful people...

Hope YOU all have a GREAT day...
Cheers~

Welcome back Grump, and sorry for Carl... Been there too many times. It ripped me up when my Newfoundland passed a few years ago, but he let me know he was all good and out of pain, so that makes it easier.

RNG, it has been 4 years (05-11-19) that I put down my beloved pup, and I still haven't gotten over it. I've had dozens of dogs, and even a loyal partner police dog for 9 years, but nothing hit me as hard as my pound puppy TesIMG954928.jpgk9.jpgsie.

I assembled the drawers for the dresser today. Or, tried to...turns out I'm missing the drawer fronts to half of them. So those will need to be fabricated, or possibly I'll need to call and beg the manufacturer to ship them to me...

This is probably my biggest auction house burn so far.

Thank you, Everyone, for your kind words, it's great to be back... I never thought it would be as hard as it was... They are missed every day... They were both my best friend. They went everywhere with us... they were allowed in all stores, and they knew where every store kept their treats... and which people to go for their treats... was kinda funny... But they knew, and after Lenny passed Carl acted like, ok, I am here without Lennie, so I should get my brother's treat... it was kinda funny... Anyhow... again, thank you for the kind words... and I am glad the boss reached out, cuz somehow II lost the page address for here...

Some pets really are special and even though I've literally had hundreds of cats, there are some that I'm super close to more than others. I've had my heart broken so many times and some have hit way harder than others. I'm still missing my cat Predicate. I helped deliver him and held him in my hand as he was born. Then one day he just disappeared and it gutted me. I suppose it was not as harsh as having him put down or seeing him die. That is always really rough. I've held some of mine in their last moments and done my best to comfort them. I know intellectually that they are no longer suffering but it still sucks.

Not looking forward to losing any more pets but I know it will happen. I wish dogs and cats had longer lives.

Redneckgrump, I'm glad to see you again and hope you and your wife start recovering from the loss and get feeling better.

Havasu, that was a beautiful doggie!

Ok, before I start soaking everything with my tears I'm going to try to think of something happy. Even though I sort of botched the tub repair stuff and it didn't match the color, from across the room you don't even see it. It is covered up so it won't rust. Also, I soaked some pliers that were so rusted they couldn't close in white vinegar for two days and they look almost like new and work fine.

Flyover, you may be better off fabricating drawer faces unless the ones from mfr are solid wood or something. If they are mdf or particle board its better to make something.

Rupert just hopped on me and is rubbing his face on my face. He's the one I call when I'm feeling cruddy & he'll come running to me and cuddle me.

Not doing too much today-- I'm getting some rest. I got cat food out of the truck, moved around water cases, & went for a short walk. I cleaned the toilet last night but I may need to clean it again since my brother was in there when I got up to use it this afternoon. Mom was in her bathroom. Need to get that 3rd bathroom built.

I picked up an order from Walmart, got mail, had frustration because they locked my box at the post office because someone lost the paperwork showing I renewed the box- AGAIN! This is the 3rd time. Fortunately, a newer and nicer employee was there. A few months back they locked my box and made me pay to get it unlocked (its's supposed to be a free box) because the paperwork hadn't been submitted- but they never gave me the forms to renew. So, I filled out the forms, showed the most recent electric bill as proof of address (the employee refused to accept other forms of proof that were listed on the forms as valid). Anyway, I didn't have a power bill with me & didn't want to play Jenga on Mom's desk trying to find it in her stack of mail. I explained that to the new employee and also said that the form said that voter registration card was listed as valid proof. Have to show 2 forms of ID. I've got driver's license and voter registration card that both show my address. She didn't have me fill out another form and said that they must have just lost it. I told her this was the 3rd time and once they actually changed the locks and made me buy new keys even after I'd submitted the forms and had my ID and bill photocopied for the files. She said with all the people coming in and going out it got disorganized. But I was able to get my mail and she wasn't rude to me like the other employee had been. I almost wonder if the other employee has a beef bc I got some heavy stuff before and if she purposely lost the stuff or if it was just a mistake.

I got my caulk condoms savers to use on the Loctite tubes if any of them have something left when we're done.

I played some PCH games and then emptied about 10k+ e-mails from my e-mail folder. I'd previously deleted everything from 2019 to 2021 and just deleted all of the ones from 2022. Well, not ALL. Some I sorted into other folders. My e-mail thing only shows me 10 emails at a time so that is how many I can delete at once. No way to show more on a single page, but a glitch somehow deleted 10k all on its own and then I manually got rid of the other 1k+ that remained.

I should probably grab something to eat soon. I'm not feeling productive today but want to stay awake and make sure I don't eat after midnight. Bloodwork tomorrow.

I agree with you! But these drawer faces have some kind of special keyhole groove routed in them to accommodate the sides, and I doubt I have a bit that would let me replicate it.

Good afternoon all...
Had to go to Ottawa early this morning to see my Chronic Pain doctor... I was told I lost 20 pounds since February when we started the gym... So, that put a smile on my face, I knew I had lost some weight, but I didn't think it was that much... So another 20 pounds and my diabetic doctor will be happy... That will bring me to 204... Told her no more than that, or I think I would look sick... So maybe by December... Time will tell... So, just got up from a nap, driving to Ottawa stress's me up BIG time because of the way they drive in Ottawa...

While in Ottawa went to two places that sold parts for appliances, but they didn't have the part I need... So I guess I am going to Samsung, where it's $50 for one knob...

So, that was my day, nothing exciting, tomorrow morning I have to go to the tire shop where I am putting new booties on the truck, and an alignment... Going with a very aggressive tire this time... Going with Good Year Wrangler Ridgeline... They are normally $377 but got them on sale last week for $177...So that was a GREAT saving... So roughly $1100 for everything...

Saturday we are picking up my Chronic Pain Doctor's Pup for a week... He's a great dog... Going to be strange, but we are both looking forward to it again... We used to have a business at the other house called Lennie and Carl's Playhouse... But we closed the business when we moved down here...

But Fisher is a GREAT dog... it will be strange...but think it will be fun... and it's only for a week...

Now, I have a question for YOU all... Have any of you bought something you can spray on your upholstery so a cat won't scratch... Bought new furniture after Carl from Lazyboy... Bought some stuff last week at the pet store... but it doesn't slow her down at all... so if YOU have any ideas... Love to hear about it...

Have a GREAT day all
Cheer's~

Have you had luck with Pure Formulas? They double charged me when they first started business years ago, refused to refund, so I haven't been back. Thousands agree...
