I cannot even imagine living with multiple cats. I have discovered that one cat in a house is one too many. I know they are unsanitary when I see litter granules two rooms away from the litter box (and that's only the visible part).

I didn't have this problem but here's another plinth block solution;

Wow! Awesome Eddie!

I didn't know what they were called but I have used them. According to Home Depot, These are Plinths too.

I used them several times in our old house and probably will use them again.
I used them at the corners of this fluted trim.

I also used them at the bottom around the front door.

I currently have a place, in a closet, where I could use one like your earlier post for an inside baseboard corner.

I see they sell them at Home Depot

Obviously the mark of a true craftsman is to do some kind of complicated joint at the corners that still manages to integrate the contouring in an artistic, flowing way. A half-lapped miter joint is the bare minimum.

I mitered all my baseboard corners but coped inside corners are the way the master carpenters make them tight.

I used to always miter but recently I learned how to cope and it's actually a lot easier. When I built these new closet walls, I cut out a section of crown just big enough for the framing and the drywall. Then I coped the new crown in.

This technique doesn't work as well with baseboard and that's why I was interested in the plinth!

Judging from prices I will be making my own baseboard corner plinth blocks If I need them. Someone w/o a router might just chamfer edges and maybe as a little saw kerf.

Here's a blog where a guy needed 50 and made them for a total cost of $9 vs paying $5 ea.

I haven't tried it but I suspect the best way to cope a baseboard inside corner for me on the RAS would be to cut the 45° then cut the straight part with the RAS and begin the coping where the RAS left off.

Or the most economical solution just use a square plinth block in the corner.

Installed the beginnings of my drain system for the new bathroom. This piece connects the toilet to its vent and then continues to the house building drain. Along the way the shower and vanity hook into it.

It fix perfectly. I added another 7 feet of 3” pipe to it. The next step is to move a heat register box and a couple water supply lines that are in the way. The water supply lines are galvanized pipe and I wanted to change them into Pex anyway.

Those are called Bullseye Plinth blocks. They sell router attachments that will cut that pattern (and various other bullseye styles). At least I think it was for a router. Might have been for a drill but my brain is not working. I am fond of the bullseye plinths.

I was going to mention those outside and inside corner blocks. Since my walls aren't square, I got a few of them (but I will seal them up very well before putting them up). The squared blocks are sort of what the people who built my bathroom did for corners. Well, they just used 1x1s for all of the corners going all the way up the wall. Even have them on the exposed side of the vanity because there was a large gap behind it. I'm thinking of replacing things with cove molding because it looks nicer to me. I'll have to get plastic ones for outside corners because my cats shred wooden ones.

Sir Hammington is still missing. I tossed and turned all night and woke up sweating like crazy. It was 80°F in the house so I had to turn the cooling on. I wish I could figure out how to set the thermostat to only cool to a certain temp if it is higher than that temp but to heat to a certain temp if below. I hope that makes sense. Basically I want to keep a somewhat constant range of temperatures. I haven't figured out how to do that with the Honeywell thermostat yet.

Friend messaged that his work screwed him over even more. Not only did they only pay him for 5 hours of work (when he worked 50), they also didn't give him his PTO. He was told he has to wait until the HR lady (only one in the company apparently) gets back from a trip in a week or so and she'll mail him a check for what is owed (not sure if that will include the PTO). The company contract ends May 5 and my friend and my brother will be joining a different company that is already operating at the casino. So, they both need to cash in any PTO remaining I suppose. Anyway, friend was almost out of gas and had no $ for food or gas. I met him at the gas station & then went into the grocery store with him so I could get him some stuff to eat until he gets paid.

He said sometime this week he wants to come work on my bathroom and he is going to help me setup my new phone. I bought it Apr 1 and the price dropped by $20 today. I'm going to contact Amazon and ask for the price difference because they have a thing where if it drops within a week they will refund some of the $. I also ordered a case for it that allows wireless charging. I have a wireless charging lamp in a bin somewhere.

I'm sure the Honeywell will do that...I know the Nest will.

Hey! Here’s a decorating hack for you! Get rid of your nightstands and just use two old suitcases, a metal box and a couple rolls of toilet paper with plastic plants stuffed in them…Not!

I can’t believe someone actually took a picture of this and put it online.

I can believe it, someone needed to feel validated lol

On my last job assignment we rented a rustic house near Camp David, MD. Inspired by This End Up furniture I made a couple of rustic end tables from Yamaha motorcycle shipping crate slats. Here's what remains of one of them after a repaint and years of use on the deck. And a kitchen stool that was shortened for patio use.
