A seven year old GSD has popped up near me. The man of the house has passed and the elderly lady is seeking a forever home for him. A dog whisperer who knows the lady is going to evaluate him to see how he reacts with different people. She (the whisperer) says he's a beautiful GSD that doesn't have the exaggerated rear slope. I have no GSD experience so I may stay away to avoid temptation. My son is going to participate in the evaluation but he's not a candidate as he has a wolf-dog that demands all his attention. Otherwise it meets my no contract criteria so I just need to tread lightly here and keep my distance (if I can).

Ron, if you're doing quality projects like that as opposed to putting together a bench for birds to sit on, I highly suggest getting some Makita square head driver bits for the Kreg screws... I have burned through countless Kreg versions that were horrific...

They WERE horrible quality pre covid and I haven't used them since, but I don't see a reason they would improve them. The screws are bad enough, but when combined with the driver bits, it wasn't pretty.

@zannej Maybe your mom has a urinary tract infection? Confusion is often the first sign in the elderly
Hmm... I'll ask her if she's had any issues. After she ate she felt fine and she was fine today. But I'm going to see if she can get an appointment with the doctor. I think it may have been blood sugar issues but doesn't hurt to check other options. She hasn't complained of any pain or problems with urinating.

Eddie, that's a cute little air fryer.

Ron, the barn door looks great! Is the hole for pets to go through?

I agree with Spicoli on getting the non philips head screws. The Milestone kit I got has the star heads and I find the star bits grip a lot better than philips.

Today is the last day my brother and our friend work for the company out of NJ. Their contract ends today and they will be signing on to another company that will give them higher pay and benefits. I'm not sure if they will be able to get their last paychecks and their gas/travel expenses to go to the other casino as they've already screwed our friend out of over $4k in pay. They've promised him the check is in the mail but he never got it. All he got was $200. He may have to sue to get the pay. He doesn't think the boss would screw him over like that, but I told him if they already didn't pay him and he had to demand it and they didn't just direct deposit it, they are trying to keep the $. He has proof that they admit to owing that amount but trying to sue would be expensive due to court costs here. I don't know if he could sue for his court costs. Some states allow it and others don't.

Stomach is still out of sorts. I want to work on my bathroom but I want my body to be cooperating more before I do that. Rained last night and is drizzling right now. Kitties are piled on me and my bed.

I haven't ran out of my original (two boxes) purchase of Kreg screws but I have never had a failure. I always use a Kreg hand driver for the final tightening so no bit popping out of the hole. Also I trust my feel on hand tightening over the clutch on a power driver.

I'm still with the intermittent fasting. I can easily go 14 hrs w/o food. After the 14 hrs I can pretty much eat whatever I wish so it has its rewards.

I hope the air fryer is as petite as it appears. I saw a recipe for twice fried French fries that looked interesting. I think McDonald's fries have been soaked and maybe experienced some sort of precooking before bagging for distribution to avoid clumping.

The description for the air fryer should say the measurements.

My friend messaged that he feels like he got hit by 3 trains with all of the removal of arcade equipment and moving in new stuff. The removal should finish today and the next few days he'll have to put in new machines from the new company.

I unloaded cases of water, some dog food, etc from the truck. Found my bag of thinset and carried it in to my bathroom. Tried to set it on my laundry cart but I didn't like how it started to buckle so I set it on the edge of the tub for now. Bag doesn't look all that big but its heavy. Will have to move it when I start putting plastic everywhere to prep for applying thinset. Need to find all of my tools and make sure everything is organized before I start. I just looked and its a 50lb bag. I thought it was less and felt like a wuss. LOL. No wonder my back was having fits. It only lists the measurement ratio for weight not by amount so that is going to suck converting as I don't want to use all 50lbs and I don't have a way to weigh the stuff when measuring it out.

My Trump era Mortgage is 37%... Today at Wells Fargo it's 136%
I don't even think of interest rates in the crazy way you do. I just apply it to the cost of the house. Add the payments, the down payment and points to get the true price of the house. You're not borrowing money you are paying for a house.

Since I don't finance anything the only thing interest means to me is the return I get per month on any money I have in the bank. That's based upon the yearly quoted rate so it makes sense after all. Maybe I should say makes cents since my return is so low.

The air fryer did list measurements but until I set it on the counter I can't visualize the impact.

I am running out of coffee. What I thought was a spare canister was an empty one I saved for making my walnut hull stain. I ordered coffee so I am using some Dollar Tree flavored coffee and some ancient Folgers coffee bags to fill in. I am also drinking some lemon-ginger tea.

I am going to try Maxwell House Intense Bold Dark Roast Ground Coffee at about 29¢/oz whereas most coffees are upward of 35¢/oz. A local roaster charges $1/oz for 12oz or 78.7¢/oz in bulk (5lbs). Trader Joe's is 35.6¢/oz for 14oz but is 35 miles distant and I never pass through that area. Shipping kills any online purchase other than Amazon or Walmart.

Ah, yeah, unless I get out a measuring tape and sort of make the shape, I do need to see things visually as well.
I don't drink coffee so I can't comment too much. I do know that there's some coffee my brother found at Samsclub that he really likes. Mom likes it too. Although, Mom doesn't drink it that often.

I'm waiting for her to wake up to try to take her to the store with me to see about upgrading her phone. Old one is too old to load the newest apps and stuff. AT&T claims you can trade "any phone" for an S23. Although the clerk said it has to be a samsung galaxy model. Trading in the Note 4. She said they will have the new phones in after 3pm.

I also want to grab a new painting coveralls suit thingy for when I do thinset. The a-hole cats peed on the one I had.

A friend of mine buys Eight O Clock coffee at Sam's Club. I think it's about 35¢/oz. Chestnut Hill Coffee is carried by Family Dollar Stores for 19¢/oz but the closest store is about 30 miles distant. Chestnut Hill got some good reviews but one can't trust reviews. However many people are gullible and just buy what others tell them is good.

I caulked the barn door today but I haven’t received my caulk condoms yet so I sealed the leftover tube with blue tape. I think the condoms are on a slow boat from China. It makes me wonder how much profit there is after shipping costs.

Yes, the hole is for the dogs. I built a cover for the hole out of the same material. We normally leave the bedroom door open but if we have company, Ruby, won’t let me shut the door unless there is a way for the dogs to get out. The dogs have a way to go outside if they need to.

The dogs aren’t allowed on the bed but they do sleep in the same room as us. They are the first line of defense in case of a home invasion. If the invaders make it past the dogs, which is doubtful, the second line of defense is either Mr Glock or Mr Remington 870.

I got a lite coat of primer on the door but it is super humid today because it’s sprinkling. It will take forever for the primer to dry.

The upper rail of the door will be for hooks to hang stuff on. I pre-drilled the holes for the hardware although I won’t put the hardware on until the door is in the bedroom because, the way I calculate it, the door is going to be difficult to get into place even without the rollers installed.

Are you thinking of increasing to 16 or 18 hours?

Considering this air fryer is 13 times the capacity, yes... Yours is petite..

Those are the 30 year rates. How is it not borrowing money?

You're never holding any money you are just making house payments so it's actually just an added cost of ownership. At least that's the way I looked at it so I built my own house to avoid it

Ron, looking great! As an aside, just as I was reading your comment about dogs not being allowed on the bed, my dog put her face on my foot-- she's on the bed. LOL.

Took Mom to get a free phone in exchange for my Note 4. Halfway there I realized I left the phone at home. Had to turn back and get it. Then to the AT&T store. Mom decided to get the $799 model and my phone was worth $800 for trade in. Only had to pay the tax. Then we went to Golden Corral where I stuffed myself. Popped into Lowes afterward to grab a couple things and headed home.

Currently lying down with the vibrating heat pad on my back again.

Helped my wife get the garden ready yesterday. Tilled up a bunch of weeds for her, then shoveled compost into the wheelbarrow, then spread and raked in the compost on the garden.

It seemed like I removed most of our two years' worth of compost to cover a third of the garden, but somehow I've gotta dig twice as much out of there today for the rest of the garden.

My compost isn't getting enough air; I can smell the anaerobic bacteria strongly. Not sure what to do about that...the basic truth is that the only decent spot for the bin was in a corner of the yard that doesn't drain well. I'm hoping it doesn't make a huge difference and that once it's spread out/amended to the garden soil the air getting to it will put all to rights.

Meanwhile in luthiery land, I have to return an important electronic component to the manufacturer so they can diagnose/fix/replace the issue it has, so I'll be about a month without it. The crappy thing is it's also my bridge so the guitar won't even be playable in the meantime.

Flyover, it sucks that you'll be without the part and unable to play the guitar for a month.

My brother woke me up last night-- not sure what time it was-- saying something about Mom falling and needing to call an ambulance. I got up and went in and he had her on her feet and was telling her to hold on to him. Then she tried to step sideways and fell again. Made this really weird noise, and then made the noise again while lying there. She was very confused and didn't know what was going on. She had this happen again. I thought my brother had already called but he said "Did you call?" I said "No, I thought you were calling" but I wanted to try to get her more lucid bc the response time is incredibly slow. Couldn't find any sugared drinks (I'll have to get more at the store). The other night she was confused like this but hadn't fallen. Brother said he went into her room to use the bathroom and she was on the floor and screamed "I'm going to die!" and that she wasn't really lucid. I found her some mini Hershey's bars and had my brother feed them to her until she was lucid again. She kept asking why her pants were wet-- she fell on the dog's water bowl and spilled it. Stayed with her until she was lucid and could remember why there was water on her and then I had to run to the bathroom. Guts are not feeling good. Brother did too. We both took Pepto. He took a break so I stayed with her but I started feeling really cruddy and I got down on the floor with her. My brother came in and I needed to go lie down for a bit bc all she needed was to get back onto her bed. I felt like I was going to pass out. She managed to get over to her bed and he picked her up and got her onto it. I went and checked on her later to make sure she was OK, but stomach was bad all night. I just checked on her a few minutes ago and she feels tired. She was sitting up with her legs off the bed trying to get her legs up on her leg cushion. I had to help her. I'll be checking again in awhile to make sure she's ok and I'll make sure she eats something. But I'm going to call our doctor on Monday about it.

My coordination is off and I've been stumbling around today. I have to go to the store and pick up RXs and some more drinks for Mom. I generally feel like garbage so unless I feel better by the end of the day I'm not doing thinset today.

Do you guys have natural gas?

I would recommend your mom go to the ER.... waiting could have devastating consequences

Yeah, Z... You have to take her in now... Sounds like a Stroke to me, but no matter what it's Neurological. They will probably be discussing Nursing Homes, so be ready for that.

I made smoke sausage and broccoli alfreo for dinner..... idk what I did wrong, but it wasn't as yummy as it normally is.

Oh well, you tend to not overeat when something isn't delicious lol

I made baked pork steak and rice yesterday, it was decent.

What to make tomorrow..... hmm

I thought about chicken con queso, however.... my stomach probably won't appreciate that.

I might make this concoction tomorrow that I learned to make when I lived in New Orleans.

You make some white rice (leftover is best), fry some bacon, reserve a small amount of bacon grease. Scramble some eggs. Once that is done, you will fry your precooked rice in the reserved bacon grease, chop your bacon, add that and scrambled eggs. Combine, season with Adobe seasoning and creole seasoning, serve, top with cheese if you'd like.
It is delicious.
